About Us

Our History
The HomeSchoolers’ Network (HSN) began in 1992 as a dream shared by a group of parentsfrom College Heights Christian Church who had chosen to homeschool their children. They started with monthly parent meetings, field trips, and children’s activities. In time, they added physical education classes, and from there, a co-op was born.

As word spread, it became clear that families outside the College Heights community also needed this kind of support. The group adopted the name The HomeSchoolers’ Network (HSN) as an outreach ministry of College Heights and appointed an Administrative Board. They expanded their offerings to include a 12-week semester model with weekly PE and academic classes.

Over the years, HSN has continued to grow—broadening its academic schedule, introducing a credit-oriented high school program, and increasing extracurricular options, parent education opportunities, and fellowship events. In 2016, HSN became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry, operating under the leadership of the HSN Ministry Council which functions under the oversight of the HSN Board of Trustees.

Our Mission Statement
The HomeSchoolers’ Network endeavors to be comprised of a body of believers who pursue a common mission to be a Christ-centered organization that equips Christian homeschool families for God’s purposes by meeting a variety of academic, relational, and most importantly, spiritual needs. We exist to glorify God and seek to connect with community to further God’s Kingdom. (Hebrews 13:20-21, Acts 1:8, Ephesians 4:3-6)

Our Vision Statement
Academic:
HSN strives to offer a range of core and elective classes, from a Biblical worldview, that will meet the needs of the co-op families. We value classes that people are passionate to teach and recognize that our children will thrive under opportunities to learn from others in their areas of giftedness. We value resources which help our children learn how to succeed, honor God in all they do, and love others well. (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, 1 Corinthians 12:12-28, 2 Peter 3:18)

Relational: HSN is designed to enrich rather than replace a family’s education. We honor the different approaches to each family’s home education. It is the intention of HSN to support and encourage one another throughout the cooperative day/events/activities according to Micah 6:8. We desire to be intentional in our relationships and in our community-sharing with one another. (Ephesians 4:16, Psalm 133:1, John 13:34-35, 1 Corinthians 1:10, 1 Peter 3:8)

Spiritual: HSN seeks to be comprised of a body of believers who share a common mission and vision of glorifying our Savior. It is our desire, through this cooperative and through our lives, that God’s name be magnified. We feel it is important to connect with one another, being like-minded in our goal of standing on Biblical values, to train our children up in Christ. We desire to bless and strengthen families through the outpouring of the shared gifts and talents of our members and to reflect Christ in all we say and do. (Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 4:15-16, Colossians 1:10-14)

Philippians 2:2: “…make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose.”
