Cleaning Day Policy

Each family must sign up for 3 cleaning days per semester.
However, teachers of at least one full-time class will only sign up for 1 day of cleaning.
A co-teacher would need to teach at least 2 classes to be eligible for the benefit.

Cleaning Day Details

  • Cleaning is done after classes are dismissed, beginning shortly after 3:00 pm and lasting until the entire building is cleaned and put back in order.
This usually takes about an hour.

  • Each cleaning family must be dismissed by a director before leaving the building, or an additional fee will be assessed.

  • Families that only attend during part of the day are still expected to:

    • Choose 3 cleaning days

    • Make arrangements to return for cleaning

Absences & Conflicts

  • If a family encounters a scheduling conflict and cannot fulfill the commitment:

    • They are responsible for finding someone to trade with

    • They must notify the cleaning coordinator

  • In the case of sudden illness:

    • The family must notify the administration

    • They should reschedule and work on a trade with another family

  • Missed cleaning slots must be made up.
    If a family fails to:

    • Show up for their assigned cleaning day

    • Make arrangements for an absence

    • Fulfill their obligations in any way
      → A $35 fee will be assessed

Cleaning Day Process

  1. On a family’s assigned cleaning day, they must:

    • Report to the cleaning coordinator to be logged in

    • Receive their cleaning assignment

  2. At 3:00 pm (when classes are dismissed):

    • Families should gather their belongings and take them to their vehicles immediately

    • Any belongings left in the building will be taken to Lost and Found

  3. After unloading belongings:

    • Report to the Cleaning Supply Area (near room 109)

    • Pick up job description and cleaning supplies

  4. During cleaning:

    • Parents are responsible for their children

    • Students must not be unsupervised in any part of the building (inside or outside)

    • Students may assist with cleaning (a great teaching opportunity)

  5. When assigned tasks are completed:

    • Help others finish their tasks

    • Assist with setup in the Worship Center

    • Check with the director on duty

  6. All families must stay until all cleaning assignments are completed.
The director must sign off that cleaning is complete and give permission to leave.
